CHIROPRACTIC

Chiropractic is a healthcare profession that focuses on diagnosing and treating disorders that affect your nerves, bones, muscles and joints, such as lower back pain, sciatic, arthritis, headaches and migraines.

Chiropractors typically study a undergrad (3 years) and postgrad (2 years) degree to achieve a high level of medical knowledge. A Chiropractor in the UK would on average train for 5 years to obtain the official status of a ‘Primary Healthcare Professional’

Chiropractors use their hands to apply a focused light and precise force to your joints to encourage alignment and re-introduce balance to the musculoskeletal system to treat these problems, they may use other techniques too, such as massage, trigger point therapy, specialised instrument adjusting, assisted stretching, muscle rehabilitation, gentle functional exercises.

DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE

Massage therapy, at its core, is a holistic healing practice that involves working with the body's soft tissues, including muscles, tendons, ligaments, and connective tissue. This is achieved through various techniques and movements such as stroking, kneading, tapping, and applying pressure to the body's surface. The primary aim of massage therapy is to enhance physical well-being and improve health by relieving tension, reducing stress, and alleviating pain.

Unlike traditional massage that focuses on relaxation, deep tissue massage addresses specific areas of concern, often resulting from injuries or muscle overuse. Its benefits extend beyond mere relief from discomfort; it also plays a crucial role in preventing injuries by maintaining optimal muscular health and mobility.

In the realm of deep tissue massage, practitioners employ a variety of techniques and approaches tailored to address the specific needs of athletes. This form of massage goes beyond the surface layer, targeting deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. It utilizes slow strokes and firm pressure to alleviate tension and knots, promoting healing and enhancing performance. A key technique involves myofascial release, which focuses on relieving pain and restoring motion by easing the tightness in fascial tissues.

It is a touch therapy that is based on the theory that different points on the feet, correspond with different areas of the body and reflexologists work these points and areas.
